Waste
& Brush Collection Services
The Town of Laguna Vista has a contract
with Allied Waste Services for waste collection services. Please read below to
learn more about what services are provided: Service Agreement Required
Every person, owner, agent, tenant, lessee, or occupant of any residence, house,
building, apartment, store or business establishment within the Town, which has
an active water and sewer connection, and/or electrical connection, or where persons
reside, gather, or congregate, or where food is prepared or served, or trash collects
or accumulates is required to have a service agreement with Allied Waste Services
for waste collection services. These services include twice a week garbage pick
up, and once a month bulk and brush pickup. If you are currently not subscribing
to these services, please call Allied Waste Services at 1-800-423-7316. As per
Ordinance No. 2007-31, it mandates that further action will be taken by the Town
of Laguna Vista if a property owner does not subscribe to these services.
Seasonal Residents Seasonal residents can cancel service when they
leave town and can reinstate when they return. When this occurs, the garbage container
will be picked by Allied Waste Services and returned upon reinstatement. Please
call Allied Waste Services at 1-800-423-7316 to learn more about this program
for seasonal residents. Brush Collection Allied Waste Services
picks up brush once a month. It needs to be placed in front of the property between
the 10th and 15th day of the month for pick up. Brush placed before the 10th day
and after the 15th day may result in a citation being issued as per Section 10
of Ordinance No. 2007-31. Bulky
Items Bulky items such as, but not limited to, stoves, mattresses, furniture,
and carpet should be placed at the curb between the 10th and the 15th of every
month. These items should be separate from the yard (brush) waste. Placement of
bulky items before or after these dates will be in violation of Ordinance No.
2007-31. Unacceptable Waste and other Waste - Tires will
NOT be picked up.
- Burning of trash is prohibited.
Waste oil is
NOT allowed in garbage containers and should be disposed at a licensed facility.
- Discarded appliances must have the Freon removed by a certified
technician and have a sticker attached to the appliance for verification. Examples
of appliances containing Freon are refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners,
etc.
Recycling By The Bay The Town, in partnership with
Allied Waste Services, provides recycling on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every
month from 8am to 12 noon at the parking lot at Town Hall, located at 122 Fernandez.
The recyclable items that are collected include: - aluminum
- tin
- newspapers

cardboard
- plastics
