RFP – Development Proposals
At last night’s regular meeting, the Town Council authorized the City Manager to initiate the RFP process for development proposals for the 13 acres on Highway 100 the Town owns that are directly adjacent where the County will be building the South Texas Eco-Tourism Center. The Town anticipates initiating this process later this month.

The goals of the Town, in going out for RFPs, is to attract experiential retail businesses that are ecologically minded; incorporate responsible storm water management; incorporate native landscaping; and, that highlight and celebrate the local culture and environment.

The Town envisions that any development on these 13 acres needs to be complement this Center, and vice-verse. In other words, when fully developed, the Town would like to see visitors spend endless hours on the 23 acres: patronizing the South Texas Eco-Tourism Center and the businesses on the 13 acres.
