On April 29, 2014, a local resident, while walking with her
husband on FM 510, was struck by a vehicle. The driver of this vehicle was on
the phone and was distracted which led to this fatal accident.
this accident, the Town Council, in an effort to raise awareness on the importance
of sharing our streets, and hopefully preventing other senseless deaths or accidents
from occurring, adopted an ordinance protecting vulnerable road users, and another
one banning texting while driving. Below are links to these two ordinances:
- The Town is asking
pedestrians, cyclists, drivers and motorcycle riders to Share Our Streets.
Please show basic courtesy while driving on FM 510, Highway 100 or any residential
street within the community.
- Just pay attention, look out for
others and share the space available to make the Town safer and more enjoyable
- Make small changes to your road behavior.
MAKE OUR COMMUNITY SAFE FOR ALL USERS…SHARE OUR STREETS!!!
